Lucie Bowden

I am a qualified breastfeeding counsellor and mother of 3, supporting new parents in Barnes, Wimbledon and Wandsworth at home and at NCT Baby Cafes.

Having graduated from UCL, I previously worked as a Marketing Manager for LVMH. Nothing prepares you for the life changes and transition from working full-time to being at home with a newborn. I struggled with breastfeeding but persevered through the pain and tears (lots of them). I was about to give up until I found some expert help.

This led to a career change. I began helping many friends who were struggling to feed their newborns and decided that was the path for me. I trained with the NCT and the University of Worcester for a foundation degree in Birth and Beyond.

For over 10 years I have been working with mothers after the births of their babies, assisting them with all aspects of new parenting, including helping them to explore their feeding challenges - offering both practical and emotional support as well as information to help mums to choose how to feed their baby.

All babies are different, and all babies have a different feeding journey. There is no right or wrong way to feed your baby, just your way. I aim to work with parents and babies to find the right feeding journey for them, whether it’s breastfeeding, bottle-feeding or most commonly a mixture of the two. The right feeding journey for you is when both mum and baby are happy and content.
